Wellbeing, growth, and the public finances

The newly revived APPG on Wellbeing Economics held its first meeting on Wednesday 22nd October. The topic was wellbeing, growth and the public finances.

We were delighted to hear from three expert speakers:

  • Prof Lord Richard Layard presented on how public spending can deliver maximum value for money in terms of improving wellbeing.
  • Sarah Cunningham set out the business case for investing in wellbeing and the importance of wellbeing as part of the UK’s growth strategy.
  • Dr Maria Cotofan outlined evidence showing the link between wellbeing and voting patterns.
