Claire Tyler (Baroness Tyler of Enfield) has been a Liberal Democrat life peer since 2011, and serves as the party’s Spokesperson for Mental Health.
She has sat on several House of Lords Select Committees, including those on Financial Exclusion (which she chaired), Intergenerational Fairness, and Public Services and Demography.
She has led several influential inquiries, including those on Parenting and Social Mobility, Charitable Giving, and co-authored the Character and Resilience Manifesto. Her work consistently promotes policy approaches that support long-term wellbeing across society.
Outside Parliament, Claire has served as President of the National Children’s Bureau, Vice-President of Relate and Chair of CAFCASS (Children and Family Court Advisory and Support Service. She has also held senior roles in the civil service, including Director of the Social Exclusion Unit.
